If you can get past the obnoxious backing music, this is pretty damn funny, and also an extremely accurate account of what the last 7 months of my life have been like.

this is inspiring in some strange way.

on a semi-related note, i recently met the 2nd floor tenant in the building next to ours. i was walking down our back stairs one night and noticed strange sounds coming from his window (the 2 buildings are about 6 inches apart). i originally thought it was a kid's room because i'd seen several toy keyboards and noisemakers (much like our place!). i knocked on the window and totally freaked the guy out at first, but explained that i too enjoyed weird noises.. turns out he is a "circuit bender", and has turned all those toys into synths and noise generators. he also builds custom synths and was working on a "really noisy squelchy contraption" in an old suitcase(!) so we exchanged numbers and promised to get together over the winter.. our bottom floor neighbor is also a musician and has part of the basement set up as a rehearsal/studio space.

my art show is over and was definitely a success. i sold (or am in the process of) 6-8 of the bigger pieces and several smaller ones. but sales aside, i made some great connections--other artists, journalists and even a gallery owner.

more than anything, it was rewarding to finally have an audience for my work. the feedback i received has been very encouraging. i'm hoping to find more opportunities to show my work, which there's no shortage of here.
